We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented and motivated Assistant Bar Manager to join the team at Mark’s Club, part of The Birley Clubs.
Mark’s Club is a private members’ dining club, based in a serene Mayfair townhouse, serving the finest, award-winning cuisine alongside an outstanding selection of cocktails, wines, and cigars.
As our Assistant Manager you will provide the highest levels of service to our Members. Working closely with the Head of Bars. Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the designated bar areas and to ensure the team are delivering the highest quality drinks and providing engaging services to the members and their guests.
Key Responsibilities:
· Ensuring the highest levels of service are consistently provided to all Members and their guests by the Bar team
· Building team knowledge on spirits, cocktails, wine and food through effective collaboration with the bar team, sommeliers and back of house team
· Ensure all necessary actions are taken to achieve both short and medium term goals and objectives of the bar department
· Ensure that opening and closing duties are completed correctly and to the standard set out
· Ensure effective and engaging daily briefings before each service
· Ensure effective communication between back of house and front of house to ensure service runs smoothly throughout opening hours
· Build member loyalty and ensure that the bar team are constantly building their knowledge on the members to ensure individual and engaging service is provided at all times
· Ensure any member or guest complaints are managed effectively at the time, asking for support as required
· Work closely with the Head of Bars to help achieve the weekly revenue and profit targets
· Have a clear understanding and knowledge of effective liquor, stock and margin control within a bar environment
· Ensure effective rota management of the bar areas taking into account weekly forecasting and budget projections
· Identify business opportunities which provide revenue growth, liaising with the Head of Bars and where applicable the Marketing Team
· Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures throughout the venue, including health and safety and food safety procedures
· Maintain responsibility for leading, inspiring and motivating the bar team to achieve stability, increased productivity and employee loyalty and engagement
· Ensure the team is supported and provided with appropriate coaching and training.
· Deliver adhoc tasks as requested by the Senior Management
